Fees

Introductory 15-minute consults are always free.

To view my fees-by-service, see my JaneApp. RCCs are GST exempt in British Columbia.

My rates are aligned with the BCACC standard rates for private practice counselling. If cost is ever a factor for you in accessing counselling when you need it, please contact me to discuss options.

I am an approved ICBC vendor. If you have an open claim with ICBC following a car crash, you are eligible for up to 12 counselling sessions in the first 12 weeks following a crash.

I accept payments through AFU with an approved RTP.

Reduced Rate Counselling

I have limited appointments reserved for reduced rate counselling. These may be available to you if the cost of counselling is a barrier for you and you do not have access to an extended health insurance plan.

Please contact me directly to inquire about reduced rate counselling.

Payment Policy

Credit card payments are processed through the Jane booking system immediately following our appointment. Alternatively, e-transfer payments can me made to shannon@rootandbud.ca.

Extended health insurance plans may cover the services of an RCC. I do not bill directly at this time. You are responsible for claiming expenses with your insurance provider.

Cancellation and No-show Policy

You will be emailed / texted an appointment reminder three days before your appointment. This should allow you sufficient time to make any changes to your schedule if something has come up.

Appointment changes or cancellations made within 48 hours are subject to a fee, at the discretion of the counsellor:

  • Cancellations within 48 and 12 hours will be charged at 50% of the appointment fee.
  • No shows or cancellations within 12 hours will be charged the full appointment fee.

If you must cancel due to an emergency beyond your control (e.g. car accident, road closure, medical event), please let me know as soon as is safe; cancellation fees do not apply to appointment changes/cancellations due to emergencies. Please note that reasonably foreseeable events (e.g. traffic delays, work events, weather, personal events) are not considered emergencies.

Illness Policy

If you or a close household member is acutely ill, please stay home. If you are well enough, we can switch to a virtual appointment, or we can reschedule for when you are feeling better. I appreciate as much notice as possible; however, cancellation fees do not apply to appointment changes/cancellations due to illness.
